Description: A big top tent in the museum's courtyard will showcase jugglers, tumblers, clowns and tightwire walkers. All performances are by children who attended a two week program at the museum. Museum exhibits are closed.

Venue Description: With four main galleries, a toddlers-only gallery, and over 100 hands-on activities, Stepping Stones offers children ages 10 and under plenty to explore and discover. With its convenient location in Mathews Park, a visit offers families access to green grass and fresh air. The museum?s award-winning building serves as exhibit itself. Upon arrival, children are drawn to its whimsical tower ? its windows are eyes, ears and a mouth; its nose is a sundial; its hat a birdcage where flights of fancy are hatched; and the hat has a "feathervane" in honor of the local folk hero, Yankee Doodle Dandy. Enjoy lunch in Stepping Stones? café ? or you can pack your own. Devon?s Place is a boundless playground featuring slides, swings and climbing gear designed as a model for safety and accessibility for all children, including those with special needs. Experience the museum?s newest exhibit, Invention Convention, where the imaginations of young inventors are sparked by exploration stations, invention capes, and recycled materials. Travel the world without leaving Connecticut: visit the museum and get a special passport, attend Around the World programs of cultural performances and activities, and have your passport stamped. There?s also a gift shop with educational toys, games, books, and Museum memorabilia. Stepping Stones presents a monthly musical performance series beginning in July in its outdoor Celebration Courtyard, featuring folk, Motown, pop/rock, and Latin music. Families can pack a picnic dinner; ice cream sundaes will be available for purchase after the show.
